The management and staff of EzXchange have played direct roles in the world of wireless telecommunications, internet marketing, finance and banking.  The team has an established track record in the development of innovative products, processing systems, security techniques and business lines that make up today's world of payments, media and technology. The team at EzXchange in combination with strategic partnerships with banks, processors and hardware providers can now provide municipalities and ISP’s a solution to profitability offer Wifi services to underserved communities.  

 

Thomas A. Layman is the President and Co-founder of EzXchange.  Tom has 25 years of international and domestic experience in the financial services and electronic payments industry.  Prior to creating EzXchange, Tom was and continues to be the President and CEO of Global Vision Group, a professional strategy, analysis and consulting firm. Prior to founding GVGroup, Tom was Senior Vice President with Visa U.S.A., holding a number of executive positions during his 11-year career there.  Tom managed the Visa Profitability Consulting practice, as well as all of the business research functions, which included performing cost reduction and benchmarking studies, and served as Chief Economist.  As global relationship manager, Tom helped US-based issuers launch programs overseas.  Tom also headed up all of Visa's efforts to mitigate the impact of personal bankruptcies on creditors, and co-chaired a creditor coalition that helped write, introduce, and lobby bankruptcy legislation.  Prior to Visa, most of Tom’s experience was directed toward assessing the business environment risk of emerging markets.  Tom holds a B.A. from Vanderbilt University and a Ph.D. in international trade and finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Tom has over 20 published articles on credit card and economic policy issues. 

 

Mauro Calvi is Co-founder of EzXchange.  Mauro brings a significant pedigree of experience in wireless telecommunications and consumer marketing.  Mauro is currently CEO of Clearfly Communications which provides broadband telecommunications and connectivity services throughout rural areas of the Western U.S.  Mauro’s experience also include repositioning existing products as well as launching new products and services to U.S. and global markets.  He was responsible for designing the marketing plan and the launch of Microsoft Network (MSN) in over 20 countries and 11 languages.  Given the Internet’s very early stage of market penetration at the time (1993-94), much of the underlying analysis focused on identifying segments of consumer adoption and developing a strategy and plan that leveraged the analysis to achieve widespread adoption.  The effort focused both on the U.S. consumer market as well as markets in Europe and Asia. Recently, Mauro was VP of sales and marketing for an online auction firm that provided enhanced access and convenience to consumers and merchants to eBay and PayPal payment solutions. His experience also includes marketing and product management positions at Ashton-Tate and Reuters. Mauro has held board positions in a number of media and technology companies in the US and Europe. He holds a BS and Masters in Electrical Engineering, Politecnico from Milan University.
